I recently spoke at the Southeastern Panhellenic Association conference in Atlanta and I am still on a high from being with such an amazing group of savvy, intelligent, and kind women. SEPC is a gathering of representations from Greek Organizations across the Southeast with a mission to educate women and share idea. I spoke about “Expectations Hangovers” and “The Myth of Having it All” and also had the opportunity to interact with students and other conference speakers.
Women nation-wide impress me with what they are doing in their professional and personal lives, but I gotta tell you, these Southern women are something else. Being there reminded me of my own Southern roots….well, I’m from Texas, which is really more like its own country, and is home to southern hospitality that I miss living in Los Angeles. But what I really noticed about the young women I met is that their kindness was genuine & their beauty was far beyond skin deep. They are committed to making the world a better place and they are starting with themselves and their college communities. They are dedicated to learning and sharing what they learn with their fellow sorority sisters and friends. They listen with open ears and they interact with open hearts. And they also happen to be extremely well dressed. . . boy was my fashion sense humbled.
I look forward to attending the conference next year and love being involved with college campuses, it keeps me on my toes! For more information about my campus programs, visit my Campuspeak site.

My name is Samantha Penner, and I am a freshman at the University of Oklahoma who was fortunate enough to get to hear you speak at the SEPC Conference. Your message was like a weight lifted off my shoulders! I have ordered your book, because you had run out by the time I got up to the stage to snag one! I just wanted to offer my encouragement and let you know how inspirational your speech was-at risk of sounding cliche, I will say it surely changed my life.
